Name(s) - Babalon
Sphere - Silence
Age - Indeterminate, and perhaps doesn't always appear as quite the same age...one of those women who's a mature 22 or a well-aged 42 or anywhere in between, and you can't quite tell. Actual age gets fuzzy; more-or-less as old as humanity. (She's very much a living-idea sort of goddess, with ancestress/cognate goddesses as far back as Mesopotamia.)
Physical Description - Probably about 5'7"-ish, statuesque-curvy. Hair is black with brownish-red highlights in the right light, eyes are dark brown, skin is dark tan. (Probably a little darker than in some icons; the one on this post has it about right.) Wears exclusively rich scarlet red, no matter what she has in an icon, unless she's wearing nothing at all. Usually long soft drapy things that cling to her curves and puddle at her feet. Wears a sword, golden hilt and sheath, on a golden belt, and is often carrying a heavy golden grail. Sometimes various golden jewelry set with rubies or lapis. May eventually acquire a sidekick, but not yet.
Other - Low, melodious, seductive voice. It's up to you whether or not she instinctively pings you as the most beautiful woman you have ever seen, but she can. Very hard to get a psychic in on without the sensation of your mind...dissolving into her...possibly in an alarming fashion. If you try, let me know.
Patronage - Babalon is a ridiculously flexible patron, able to be anything from a chill supportive-and-loving friend to a boundary-invading relentless challenger depending upon the character and the day. (Obviously I'll lean more towards people who need some serious pushes from time to time She will be what people want or need, and is absolutely indiscriminate. She refuses none, and her ultimate goal is to guide her proteges to discover their most intense inner will and path in life, and then pursue it, no matter what. Hero, villain, anywhere in between, and she will do whatever is needed to guide, coax, or bully them along their path. Patroning with Babs is going to be an interesting experience, and I'll very much play it by ear and plan to keep in good touch with the other player to discuss Things That Would Be Good For Their Character, since Babalon will be proactive and in your face if she needs to be. She loves literally everybody, it is part of her divine programming, but that won't necessarily stop her from doing things that you want or need on some level or for some purpose, even if they're very unpleasant things.
She may nudge people towards the Path of Divinity due to her thing for self-actualization. Obviously only if that's what their player wants, but a lot of people like trauma so. :) I'm willing to play Babs as having a very contentious patroning relationship if that's what that player wants and thinks would be ultimately beneficial and/or fun to play. She knows exactly what personal boundaries are, she just likes stretching and blurring and challenging them, which I know could lead to a lot of resentment. But she could also be a totally loving respectful bro if that's what your character needs. JUST LET ME KNOW.
She'll patron literally anyone, and probably be at least decent for most people, unless they want a super hands-off person or aren't into self-actualization. In terms of just my personal preferences and who I think would be most entertaining to play her off of, I'd lean towards tsunderes with major boundary issues who secretly want love, because she'd be great for them, but I could see myself picking up a wide variety of proteges. (Yes, I not-so-secretly picked Babalon, and to a lesser extent chaos, as gods who could pick up pretty much any ghost who nobody else did. Trying to be a thoughtful mod and all that.)
Permissions - You can't do anything to Babalon and she won't do anything to you, except maybe drape all over you and generally be an invasively sexual presence--but she won't do that unless your character wants it. On some level. Even if they're tsunning on the outside. :) In general, really, Babalon has a sometimes uncanny ability to know exactly how far she can push somebody before it turns into the bad sort of pushing, so feel free to ping me for OOC chatter.
